Welcome to my website.

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as your Erie County Sheriff for the past seven years. It 's been a difficult journey at times to say the least; notwithstanding the nearly 1,000 years of combined police experience that retired last year (more than 2 dozen detectives and deputies ) due to changes in their collective bargaining agreement.

It has been said that the accomplishments of true professional should be judged by how well they perform with the resources available (or lack of resources available) at the current time. That is certainly true in the criminal justice field; and quite frankly, I think the Erie County Sheriff's Office does an excellent job considering the monetary and staff limitations that have been imposed upon us over the past several years.

We will continue to forge on as we encounter new challenges much like any other law enforcement agency across the country does during these fiscally constrained times. We will keep earning the public trust bestowed upon us by providing high quality, cost-effective law enforcement, making our communities a safer place in which to live, work and raise a family. Please remember that public safety is a cooperative effort. We need the public's help and input. Please remember: "If you see something, say something".

A lot of misinformation has been released about our jail. I remain committed to the Constitutional treatment of inmates, but I do not believe they should enjoy a quality of life superior to that of working families and retirees.

Again, thank you for your continued support, as no community is so large and powerful that it can accomplish everything on its own and none is too small to make a difference.
